Gaelic 4 Mothers & Others

The purpose of Gaelic4Mothers&Others is to offer women the chance to be socially and physically active within the community in a non-competitive way.

Robert Emmets Gaelic4Mothers&Others team is growing from strength to strength. We are lucky to have the most amazing coach in Caoimhe. Not only is she the best craic, she also has great knowledge of women’s health and fitness. Caoimhe is football mad, which is contagious and has instilled a love of the game in us all. Only one member of our team played football before and new members are joining all the time. We also have a great assistant coach in Emily – she takes no prisoners!

We love every minute, we have gained confidence, made new friends, improved our physical and mental health and we would encourage anyone to join. We would love everyone to feel the way we feel after playing. The laughter, the sweat and just learning a new skill is so rewarding and a great way to meet others from the community.

So, for all the women out there, looking for something to do within the community, come along to the 8 Acres on a Monday evening at 7pm and I promise it will be the best thing you ever do!!

A few words from some of our team members on their experience so far:

Craic!

Welcoming!

Having joined recently, I would definitely second welcoming and craic. Fabulous bunch of girls and inclusive of everyone no matter experience or ability.

Effortless exercise in a fun atmosphere.

So many positive words to describe this team, but for me it’s encouraging!

Willing to risk life and limb to get the ball and mad for a good session after a match!

It is such a fabulous way to meet people, keep fit and learn a new skill. Delighted I took the plunge!!!

Great craic and such a fantastic bunch of ladies helped make lockdown less insane.

One word: ESCAPE! An excellent escape from the daily grind to have some craic and get fit at the same time with a friendly bunch of ladies.

Stress-Buster.
